The driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe was injured in a rear-end collision with a trailer being pulled by a Dodge Ram on Interstate 64 near mile marker 111, south of Fairfield, IL. Illinois State Police report the accident took place around 5:46 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Authorities report the Dodge was pulling a flatbed trailer in the right lane of the interstate when the Hyundai collided with the rear of the trailer, going off the road and coming to a stop in the center median. The driver was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries, and the driver of the Ram was uninjured. Investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
