On or about Thursday, October 28th, 2021, around 5:00 in the evening, an accident between a dump truck and a car sent a 74-year-old man and a 60-year-old man to the hospital. Investigators said the accident was reported along Route 32 in Northumberland, New York.
Troopers from the NYSP 74-year-old Alton Weeden was injured when a dump truck driven by 60-year-old Patrick Pitcheralle allegedly lost control and rolled into the oncoming lanes of traffic where it struck Weeden’s car. Paramedics transported Weeden and Pitcheralle to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Route 32 winds north and south through Northumberland, which is about 43 miles north of Albany.
Police are still trying to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
