Details:
On or about Thursday, January 28th, 2021, around 12:06 in the afternoon, an accident between a dump truck and a car left a woman and child dead. Representatives from the OHP said the accident happened along Bear Run Road in Gallia County, Ohio.
Law enforcement spokespeople said Betty Bates and a 4-year-old child were killed when the vehicle they were in allegedly failed to yield and collided with a dump truck. Bates and the 4-year-old child died of their injuries after the crash. Paramedics transported another 12-year-old passenger to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Google Maps shows Gallia County is about 96 miles south of Columbus.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.
