On or about Tuesday, April 26th, 2022, around 12:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left two individuals dead. Spokespeople from the ALEA said the accident was reported along Highway 31 in Butler County, Alabama.
Representatives from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said 47-year-old Billy J. Brooks and 37-year-old Shaun W. Wilkes were killed when the tractor-trailer Wilkes was driving allegedly collided head-on with the Nissan Frontier Brooks was driving. Emergency responders pronounced both Wilkes and Brooks dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 10 miles south of Fort Deposit.
Police are still investigating the collision.
