Details:
On or about Monday, December 6th, 2021, around 7:10 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 21-year-old Arkansas man. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along Highway 59 in Cass County, Texas.
Texas DPS representatives said 21-year-old Brandon Pewitt was killed when the Toyota Tundra pickup truck he was driving allegedly hit the back of a tractor-trailer that had stopped or slowed for a school bus on Highway 59. Emergency responders pronounced Pewitt dead a short time after the accident, but it is not clear if he died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, Highway 59 runs north and south into Cass County, which is about 171 miles east of downtown Dallas.
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
