On or about Monday, April 12th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a minivan and a roofing truck left an 8-year-old girl dead. Authorities from the area said the accident happened at the intersection of Four Corners Road and 175th Street in Gardner, Kansas.
Investigators said 8-year-old Callie Dilks was killed when the minivan she was in was allegedly struck by a roofing truck and pushed into another nearby vehicle. Dilks died of her injuries a short time after the accident. Three other people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries stemming from the accident.
According to Google Maps, Gardner is situated about 35 miles southwest of downtown Kansas City.
Officials hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
