Details:
On or about Wednesday, November 4th, 2020, around 3:18 in the afternoon, a garbage truck accident sent a child to the hospital. Deputies from Travis County said the accident happened on Mustang Chase near the intersection with Hereford Way in Austin, Texas.
Officers said an as-of-yet unidentified child was rushed to the hospital after they were allegedly struck by a city owned garbage truck as they were riding their bike. First responders rushed the child to nearby Dell Children’s Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.
Google Streetview shows the intersection of Mustang Chase and Hereford Way is a “T” intersection, with a yield sign posted on Hereford. The intersection is nestled in a residential area in the northern portion of Austin.
Police hope to release more information at a later date.
