On or about Thursday, April 7th, 2022, around 9:00 in the morning, a major pileup accident with a tractor-trailer and several other passenger vehicles left a young child dead. Troopers from the LSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 12 just outside Albany, Louisiana.
Authorities from the Louisiana State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified child was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly jackknifed and caused a chain-reaction accident with several other vehicles. Paramedics pronounced a young child dead a short time after the collision. It is not clear if anybody else was injured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the eastbound side of I-12.
Police are still investigating the accident.
