Details:
On or about Monday, March 21st, 2022, around 9:20 in the morning, a major accident between a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer left two men dead. Authorities from the ALEA said the accident was reported along Interstate 59 just outside Trussville in Jefferson County, Alabama.
Representatives from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said 47-year-old Clifton Cottingham and 42-year-old Roy Melton Jr. were killed when the pickup truck they were in allegedly collided with the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of I-59. Paramedics pronounced Cottingham and Melton dead of their injuries after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 59 cuts north and south into Jefferson County.
Authorities are still examining all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
