Details:
On or about Saturday, March 27th, 2021, around 1:00 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 36-year-old man. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported near the intersection of South 14th Street and Interstate 35 in Waco, Texas.
Department of Public Safety Troopers said 36-year-old Craig Creel Steward was killed when he was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer that subsequently fled the scene of the accident. Emergency responders pronounced Steward dead of his injuries a short time after he was hit. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary report.
Texas DPS Troopers are currently looking for a white or grey Freightliner tractor-trailer in connection with the incident.
Officials hope to release an update on the situation whenever it becomes available.
