On or about Thursday, May 12th, 2022, around 5:10 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a cyclist and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along West Mount Houston Road in Houston, Texas.
Officers from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified cyclist was killed when they were allegedly hit by a vehicle as they were riding their bike alongside or near West Mount Houston Road. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene of the collision. Emergency responders pronounced the cyclist dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is under the Interstate 45 overpass.
Police are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
