Details:
On or about Friday, June 18th, 2021, around 11:00 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of two truck drivers. Officials from the State Troopers said the accident was reported along Highway 231 in Montgomery County, Alabama.
Alabama State Troopers said 58-year-old David Carpenter and 61-year-old Richard Bennett were killed when Carpenter’s tractor-trailer allegedly crossed from the northbound lanes and struck Bennett’s southbound 18-wheeler. Paramedics pronounced Carpenter and Bennett dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, Highway 231 runs north and south through the eastern side of Montgomery County, with the scene of the accident a short distance southeast of downtown Montgomery.
Police are still investigating the accident.
