On or about Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020, around 1:30 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 45-year-old man from Olive Hill. KSP Troopers said the accident happened on the westbound side of Interstate 64 in Rowan County, Kentucky.
State Troopers said 45-year-old Dennis McCoy was killed when his Chevrolet Blazer rolled after it was hit by a tractor-trailer traveling the same direction. Paramedics rushed McCoy to St. Claire HealthCare Emergency Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
Google Streetview shows Interstate 40 is four lanes in the area, with a grassy median dividing east and westbound traffic. Rowan County is located about 134 miles east of Louisville.
State and local law enforcement are investigating.
