On or about Friday, October 22nd, 2021, around 1:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 54-year-old Junction City man. Officials from the KSP said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Highway 77 and Highway 57 in Geary County, Kansas.
Law enforcement representatives said 54-year-old Edward Eugene Jones was killed when the motorcycle he was driving and a tractor-trailer collided under unspecified circumstances at or near the intersection of Highway 57 and Highway 77. Paramedics pronounced Jones dead a short time after the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their statement on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Geary County is located about 129 miles west of Kansas City.
Deputies from the Geary County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the accident.
