On or about Monday, April 12th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle left a 22-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at the intersection of State Highway 27 and State Highway 18 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.
Officers said 22-year-old Elizabeth Reed was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck her vehicle when she was turning from State Highway 27 to State Highway 18. Reed was pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if she died at the scene or after being taken to the hospital. Police did not mention any other injuries in their preliminary statement.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 27 is about 36 miles northwest of downtown Charlotte.
