Four people were injured in a twelve vehicle collision involving a tanker truck at the I-275 offramp to 22nd Avenue in St. Petersburg, FL. Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol say the incident occurred around 5:39 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Reports indicate the tanker truck was allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed when it pulled onto the exit ramp. There it collided with a vehicle attempting to change lanes, which set off the chain of accidents.
One person was seriously injured, while the extent of the other injures is currently unknown. The driver of the tanker truck was cited for carless driving with injuries for their role in the crash.
