Details:
On or about Friday, September 17th, 2021, an accident between a car and a dump truck claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman. Troopers from the NYSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 116 and Route 67 in Johnstown, New York.
Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said 18-year-old Haley Case was killed when her car was allegedly struck by a Montgomery County Public Works dump truck that turned into her path. Paramedics transported Case to Nathan Littauer Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Route 116 and Route 67 is a short distance east of Johnstown, which is about 46 miles northeast of Albany.
Police are still working to pin down the cause of the crash.
