On or about Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, around 10:40 in the morning, a tractor-trailer crash at the scene of a previous accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old good Samaritan. Police said the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 44 in Eureka, Missouri.
Authorities said that 30-year-old Heather Baker was killed when she was hit by a Jeep that was allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer while she was tending to the scene of a previous accident. Baker died of her injuries a short time after she was struck. The driver of the 18-wheeler did not report injuries.
An examination of Interstate 44 on Google Maps shows a six lane roadway with a large concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic. Eureka is situated about 28 miles southwest of St Louis.
Missouri State Highway Patrol is aiding local police with the accident investigation.
