On or about Thursday, May 20th, 2021, around 4:39 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman. Troopers from the DPS said the accident was reported at a railroad crossing on the Carthage Loop (Highway 79) in Carthage, Texas.
Investigators said 25-year-old Hylari Pajh Broadway was killed when her car allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer at a railroad crossing. Paramedics rushed Broadway to UT Health Carthage where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after the accident. Officials identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 40-year-old Sanel Skopak, who was uninjured in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the Carthage Loop (Highway 79) runs a perimeter around the city of Carthage, which is about 159 miles southeast of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Police are still investigating the accident.
