Details:
On or about Friday, February 11th, 2022, around 9:30 in the morning, an accident between two tractor-trailers left two individuals injured. Deputies from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Route 1 just outside Amity, Maine.
Troopers from the Maine State Police said 31-year-old James Walsh and 66-year-old Larry Belanger were injured when Walsh’s tractor-trailer allegedly drove over the center line of Route 1 and struck Belanger’s tractor-trailer in the oncoming lanes of traffic. Paramedics airlifted Walsh to the hospital, while Belanger was treated for unspecified injuries stemming from the collision.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Amity, which is about 113 miles northeast of downtown Bangor.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
