Details:
On or about Monday, April 4th, 2022, around 11:03 in the morning, a serious accident between a box truck and two passenger vehicles left a 69-year-old man dead and sent other people to the hospital. Troopers from the ASP said the accident was reported along Grand Avenue in Surprise, Arizona.
Deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department said 69-year-old Jeffrey Hilbert was killed and an unspecified number of other people were injured when a Penske box truck allegedly slammed into the vehicles they were in along Grand Avenue. Paramedics pronounced Hilbert dead of his injuries after the accident, while emergency responders transported an unknown number of other people to the hospital with injuries stemming from the accident.
Police have since identified the driver of the Penske box truck as 57-year-old Dewey Sigler, who currently faces drug related charges and manslaughter charges in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 35 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix.
