On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 8:21 in the evening, an alleged drunk driving accident between a passenger vehicle and an SUV left a 27-year-old man dead. Law enforcement officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of Nile Drive and Ennis Joslin Road in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Police said 27-year-old Jesus Garcia was killed when the car he was riding in, driven by 21-year-old Leroy Jasso, allegedly failed to yield when it turned at the intersection of Nile Drive and Ennis Joslin Road when it struck an SUV. Emergency responders rushed Garcia to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021.
Officials charged Garcia with two counts of intoxication assault after the accident, however one will now be upgraded to intoxication manslaughter now that Garcia has succumbed to his injuries.
