Details:
On or about Sunday, May 2nd, 2021, around 6:04 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck left two people dead. Authorities said the accident was reported along Interstate 70 in Cumberland County, Illinois.
Troopers from the ISP said 19-year-old Ethan Angerami and 18-year-old John Hibbard were killed when the vehicle they were in allegedly veered off the side of the interstate and slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the side of the interstate. Emergency responders pronounced Hibbard and Angerami dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident.
Officials cited the driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 56-year-old Ronald Rice, for improper parking in connection with the crash.
Authorities hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
