Details:
On or about Sunday, February 7th, 2021, around 3:25 in the afternoon, an accident between two cars and two tractor-trailers left a 47-year-old woman dead. Representatives from the VSP said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 81 in Roanoke County, Virginia.
Law enforcement spokespeople said a tractor-trailer allegedly rear-ended a Subaru Outback, pushing it into the Chevrolet Traverse driven by 47-year-old Kandy Bryant Poarch and an 18-wheeler. Parch was pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after emergency responders arrived at the scene. One other person was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
Google Maps shows Interstate 81 cuts through the center of Roanoke County, which is about 187 miles west of Richmond.
