Details:
On or about Thursday, November 26th, 2020, around 6:30 in the evening, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left a 23-year-old woman from Lorain dead. State Troopers said the accident happened on the westbound side of the Ohio Turnpike in Oxford Township, Ohio.
Police said 23-year-old Karysha Melendez was killed when she allegedly exited her vehicle after a previous accident when she was struck by a tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes. Melendez was pronounced dead of her injuries a short time after she was hit.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 50-year-old Daniel Moyer, who did not report injuries after the accident.
Looking at the Ohio Turnpike in the area shows a six lane tollway, with a concrete barrier dividing the east and westbound lanes of traffic. Oxford Township is located about 256 miles southwest of Cleveland.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
