Details:
On or about Tuesday, April 13th, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left a child dead, and sent a woman and another child to the hospital. Department of Public Safety Trooper said the accident happened along the eastbound side of Highway 287 in Armstrong County, Texas.
Texas DPS said an SUV allegedly veered out of the eastbound lanes of Highway 287 and struck the back of a parked tractor-trailer on the shoulder. Emergency responders pronounced a 6-year-old boy dead at the scene, while Thomason and a seven month old child were taken to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Highway 287 cuts east and west through northern Armstrong County, which is about 40 miles southeast of Amarillo, according to Google Maps.
State and local law enforcement assisted at the scene of the collision.
