Details:
On or about Thursday, April 1st, 2021, around 6:40 in the evening, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer claimed the lives of two 40-year-old men. Troopers from the DPS said the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 82 and FM 1816 in Montague County, Texas.
Department of Public Safety Officials said 40-year-old Artie Carlton Willett and 40-year-old Kenneth Wayne Killian were killed when the car they were in allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of U.S. 82 and FM 1816 when it was hit by a tractor-trailer driven by Jesse Hogan. Willett and Killian died of their injuries a short time after the accident. Emergency responders transported Hogan to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the accident happened a short distance from the Bowie city limits, which is about 81 miles northwest of Dallas.
Texas DPS and local authorities assisted at the scene of the accident.
