On or about Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, around 12:03 in the morning, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 24-year-old Springdale man. State Police said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 30 in Miller County, Arkansas.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said 24-year-old Kentrell Ivory was killed when he was allegedly hit by an 18-wheeler as he was crossing the interstate. Emergency responders pronounced Ivory dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene.
Arkansas State Police said the weather was clear and the roads were dry at the time of the accident. Google Maps shows Miller County sits on the Texas border, with Texarkana nestled in the northwest corner of the county.
State and local law enforcement are investigating the accident.
