On or about Monday, May 10th, 2021, around 3:58 in the afternoon, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer left a 6-month old boy dead and sent two women to the hospital. Investigators said the accident happened along U.S. Highway 31 near the intersection of County Road 100 in Peru, Indiana.
Law enforcement officials said 6-month-old Leo Wallace was killed, while Sarah and Cecilia Wallace were injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly slammed into the back of their car while driving down U.S. Highway 31. Paramedics pronounced Leo dead a short time after the accident, and transported Sarah and Cecilia Wallace to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, Peru is situated about 80 miles north of Indiana.
Several agencies responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
