On or about Monday, January 11th, 2021, around 3:40 in the afternoon, an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer left a 65-year-old man dead. Officials said the accident happened on the eastbound side of Highway 26 in Clatsop County, Oregon.
Oregon State Police Troopers said 65-year-old Lonnie Meade was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly rear-ended his SUV as he slowed to make a turn off Highway 26. Meade was pronounced dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler did not report injuries after the accident.
Google Maps shows Clatsop County is about 77 miles northwest of Portland.
State Police is assisting local law enforcement with the accident investigation.
