On or about September 28th, 2020, around 10:15 in the morning, an accident between a commercial truck and a car sent a 49-year-old man to the hospital. Harris County Deputies said that the accident happened at the intersection of Riggs Road and Airline Drive in Houston, Texas.
Police say that 49-year-old Marvin Williams was injured when the Dodge Charger he was driving in the northbound lanes of Airline Drive was hit by a commercial truck towing a trailer that allegedly failed to yield at the intersection with Riggs. Paramedics transported Williams to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Officers cited the driver of the commercial truck for failure to yield to the right of way.
An inspection of the intersection shows that Airline Drive is four lanes with a curbed median dividing north and southbound traffic. Riggs Road is two lanes that run east and west. According to Google Earth, only Riggs Road has a stop sign at the intersection.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene of the accident.
