Details:
On or about Tuesday, April 20th, 2021, around 1:45 in the afternoon, an accident between two tractor-trailers and a pickup truck claimed the life of a 39-year-old Mansfield man. Department of Public Safety Troopers said the accident happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 in New Braunfels, Texas.
Deputies from the Comal County Sheriff’s Office said 39-year-old Matthew Wade Patek was killed when his pickup truck allegedly rear-ended two 18-wheelers on the northbound side of the interstate. Patek was pronounced dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. No other injuries were reported after the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is near FM 306 in New Braunfels, which is 33 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio.
Police are still investigating.
