Details:
On or about Monday, October 12th, 2020, around 8:00 in the evening, a rear-end collision between a car and a tractor-trailer killed a Fort Worth, Texas resident. The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 in Delta, Louisiana.
Authorities said that 41-year-old Nathan Ribelin was killed when the Chevrolet Silverado he was driving allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer that stopped or slowed for traffic. The 18-wheeler subsequently struck a nearby Ford F350 pickup truck after the initial collision.
Paramedics rushed Ribelin to a nearby hospital where he died a short time after his arrival.
Louisiana State Police indicated that 38 fatal crashes have claimed 30 lives in the area in 2020.
The investigation into the accident is still underway.
