On or about Friday, March 18th, 2022, around 1:40 in the morning, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a police patrol vehicle sent a police officer to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on West Loop 610 in Houston, Texas.
Authorities from the Houston Police Department said an officer was injured when an Acura HDX driven by a 17-year-old allegedly slammed into the back of a police patrol vehicle along West Loop 610 near Highway 69, formerly Highway 59. Paramedics transported the police officer in the cruiser to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated a short distance southwest of downtown Houston.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
