Details:
On or about Friday, November 19th, 2021, around 2:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a teen on a bike and a box truck sent one person to the hospital. Local law enforcement spokespeople said the accident was reported along the Crosstown Parkway at the intersection with Southwest Cashmere Boulevard in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 16-year-old boy was injured when he was allegedly hit by a box truck while he was crossing Crosstown Parkway in a crosswalk while riding a bicycle. Emergency responders airlifted the teen cyclist to the hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement o the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Crosstown Parkway and Southwest Cashmere Boulevard is situated not far from the center of Port St. Lucie.
Officials are still working to pin down exactly what happened in the accident.
