Details:
On or about Thursday, April 28th, 2022, sometime in the afternoon hours, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer left one individual injured. Representatives from the APD said the accident was reported at the intersection of Central Avenue and Tramway Boulevard in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly hit by a tractor-trailer as they were walking down or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at Central and Tramway. Paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital with critical injuries stemming from the incident. .
Police have since identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as 55-year-old John Gwinn, who has been charged with with vehicular homicide, methamphetamine possession and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death in connection with the accident.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the east side of Albuquerque.
