Details:
On or about Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, around 6:15 in the afternoon, a hit-and-run accident between a dump truck and a pedestrian sent one person to the hospital. Officials from the OSHP said the accident was reported at the intersection of Memorial Drive and 6th Avenue in Lancaster, Ohio.
Deputies from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when they were allegedly struck by a dump truck as they were walking down or making an attempt to cross the roadway at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Memorial Drive. After the initial accident, the dump truck fled the scene of the accident. Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Police are still working to find the dump truck and driver.
Authorities hope to release more information as soon as it becomes available.
