On or about Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, around 1:45 in the morning, a serious accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian sent one woman to the hospital. Police from the area said the accident was reported along State Highway 64 in Smith County, Texas.
Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was injured when she was allegedly hit by a vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of State Highway 64. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Paramedics transported the woman to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the Dixie town line.
Police are still investigating the accident.
