On or about Tuesday, October 26th, 2021, around 11:45 in the morning, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent a 35-year-old Spring Lake woman to the hospital. Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at the intersection of State Highway 31 and Hays Street in Grand Haven Township, Michigan.
Police from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified 35-year-old woman from Spring Lake was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of Highway 31 and Hays Street and struck her SUV as she was driving westbound through the intersection. Paramedics took the woman to a nearby hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the collision.
According to Google Maps, Highway 31 runs north and south through the center of Grand Haven Township, which is located about 33 miles west of Grand Rapids.
