On or about Wednesday, July 7th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, a single-vehicle tractor-trailer accident sent one person to the hospital. Spokespeople from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported on the eastbound side of Interstate 20 at the Willow Branch Road overpass in Van Zandt County, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said one as-of-yet unidentified truck driver was injured when a tractor-trailer allegedly skidded off the side of eastbound I-20 and hit the Willow Branch Road overpass bridge pillar. Emergency responders treated one individual for unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. No other injuries were mentioned by police in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 10 runs east and west through Van Zandt County, with the scene of the accident a short distance from the Van city limits.
