Details:
On or about Saturday, October 30th, 2020, around 12:55 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car sent an 81-year-old man to the hospital. State Troopers said the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
Police said that an as-of-yet unidentified 81-year-old man was injured when the Lexus they were driving collided with an 18-wheeler near Exit 11. Paramedics cut the man from the wreckage and rushed him to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was unhurt.
Google Maps shows Interstate 78 as six lanes wide, with a barrier and a grassy median diving east and westbound traffic. Hunterdon County is situated about 48 miles southwest of Newark.
Both state and local law enforcement agencies are investigating the accident.
