Details:
On or about Thursday, January 7th, 2021, around 4:43 in the morning, an accident between a car and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries. Troopers from the ISP said the accident happened on Interstate 80 near Maple Street in New Lenox, Illinois.
Deputies from the Will County Sheriff’s Office said one person was rushed to the hospital when their car allegedly hit the rear of a tractor-trailer that had stopped on the shoulder after a previous accident. One person was cut from the car, which was pinned beneath the trailer, and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to Google Maps, New Lenox is located about 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Interstate 80 is four lanes in the area, with a concrete barrier dividing east and westbound traffic.
Illinois State Police and local local law enforcement responded to the scene of the accident.
