On or about Monday, October 26th, 2020 around 4:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left one man dead. Authorities said that the accident happened on Manor Street in the Oildale area of Bakersfield, California.
Troopers from the CHP said that one as-of-yet unidentified man was killed when they were allegedly struck by a box truck while they were standing near or behind a box truck on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Manor. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead after the accident.
An examination of Manor Street on Google Streetview shows a four lane thoroughfare with a wide, curbed median dividing east and westbound traffic. The Oildale area is located in the northern portion of Bakersfield.
State and local law enforcement agencies are investigating.
