On or about Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, around 7:30 in the evening, an accident between a box truck and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Police said the accident happened on Route 219 in Tucker County near Parsons, West Virginia.
Officers said one as-of-yet unidentified person died when a box truck and a tractor-trailer collided head-on. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators did not speculate on the events that led to the accident in their initial report.
Looking at Route 219 in Google Maps shows a two lane thoroughfare that winds through a rural residential area. Parsons is located about 156 miles northeast of Charlestown.
Deputies from the Tucker County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the accident.
