Details:
On or about Sunday, April 25th, 2021, around 1:23 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a bus left a 30-year-old woman dead. Deputies from the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the westbound side of John J Williams Highway in Lewes, Delaware.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 30-year-old woman was killed when she was allegedly hit by a passing bus as she was walking in or near the westbound lanes of the highway. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead of her injuries a short time after the accident. Officers did not mention any other vehicles in their initial report on the incident.
John J Williams Highway runs east and west through the town of Lewes, which is about 40 miles southeast of Dover, according to Google Maps.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
