On or about Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, around 7:44 at night, a major two-vehicle accident left at least one person dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 43 and FM 1716 in Rusk County, Texas.
Police officers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when at least two vehicles collided under unspecified circumstances at or near the intersection of Highway 43 and FM 1716. Emergency responders pronounced at least one individual dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, Rusk County is about 142 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
