Details:
On or about Friday, January 22nd, 2021, around 7:23 in the evening, an accident between a pickup truck and a dump truck left one man dead and sent four people to the hospital. Officials from the FHP said the accident happened on the northbound side of Interstate 75 in Gibsonton, Florida.
Police from the area said a dump truck allegedly struck a pickup truck while merging into the northbound lanes. After the initial collision, the pickup collided with a trailer being towed by a motor home. The driver of the pickup truck, identified only as a 38-year-old man was killed, while four other passengers were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the dump truck was also injured.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 75 runs north and south along the eastern edge of Gibsonton, which is about 10 miles south of Tampa.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
