On or about Thursday, July 15th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a garbage truck claimed the life of one person. Local law enforcement officials said the accident was reported at Morro Bay Boulevard and Bernardo Avenue in Morro Bay, California.
Officers said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly struck by a garbage truck and dragged a significant distance. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries a short time after the accident, but did not specify if they died at the scene or after being rushed to a nearby hospital. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their preliminary statement on the accident.
