Details:
On or about Sunday, June 19th, 2022, around 1:45 in the morning, a hit-and-run car accident left one person dead. Representatives from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Galveston Road in Houston, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross Galveston Road. After the initial accident, the vehicle fled the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they died of their injuries a short time later.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the exchange with Clear Lake City Boulevard.
Authorities are still looking for the driver and vehicle that fled the scene.
