Details:
On or about Sunday, April 17th, 2022, an accident between a minivan and a passenger vehicle sent one woman to the hospital. Spokespeople from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along U.S. Highway 183 in Austin, Texas.
Representatives from the Austin Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was injured when the vehicle she was in was allegedly hit by a minivan that had pulled out of a driveway along Highway 183. After the initial accident, the minivan fled the scene. Emergency responders treated one woman in the passenger vehicle for unspecified injuries after the accident.
Police have since identified the driver of the minivan as Nelson Moran-Mendez, who was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid in connection with the accident.
Officials are still investigating the collision.
